Taking Charge of Your Health

As we journey through summer, it’s the perfect time to take charge of your health and wellness. I'm here to empower you to let go of the "shoulds" and truly consider what you want to do for your health.

Consider this your permission slip.

I've met many women in my office this summer who have:

  • Followed health advice they don’t understand or that doesn’t work for their lifestyle 😕

  • Tried many things that worked for other people without considering their own needs 😬

  • Felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information available 😵‍💫

My Advice for Taking Charge:

Embrace Your Uniqueness

Each body is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another.

Conversely, if something didn’t work for someone else, it could still be effective for you.

Experiment with what feels good and choose what’s sustainable and beneficial for you.

Customize Your Approach

If recommended foods or exercise routines don’t work for you, you likely won't stick with them.

If a 30-minute outdoor walk feels impossible, try a 10-minute walk or a YouTube workout video that suits you better.

If you hate kale, don’t eat it. I promise other green vegetables will suffice.

Decide for Yourself

For virtually every food (even vegetables), you can find an expert who swears by it and another who would banish it. This can be said about almost everything in the wellness world.

At some point you have to decide what makes sense to you.

*Except if you have food allergies or sensitivities—sometimes we need to eliminate things we enjoy for our overall health.

Speak Up

If a medication or supplement causes undesirable effects (or even if you think it does), speak up! Don’t assume you have to live with those side effects.

Let your practitioner know what you’re experiencing so they can support you in exploring alternatives.

*Always consult your practitioner before stopping medications or supplements

Find the Right Practitioner

If your needs are not being met or your practitioner doesn’t listen to you, it might be time to find someone who will.

I know this is easier said than done, but it’s well worth the effort.

Your health and well-being deserve to be taken seriously, and finding a practitioner who respects and understands you can make all the difference.

Remember, there are experts, but there is no authority greater than your own body and intuition.

Trust yourself, listen to your body, and take steps that feel right for you. 💖

In naturopathic medicine, we believe true wellness goes beyond symptoms. It's about embracing a proactive, holistic approach and empowering individuals to find what works for them.

Your wellness journey is uniquely yours, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.👐
